Urban system for collaboration and dialogue between young citizens
We were invited to conceive, design and lead a workshop for teenagers of the Lunetta neighborhood in Mantova to create a “Children's Parliament” that was inaugurated during Festivaletteratura 2024.
The Children's Parliament we designed is nomadic, horizontal, welcoming and light, a place to gather and discuss. Twelve seats suitable for children that when rotated become seats for adults; multifunctional objects to be used as podiums on which to speak, tables on which to draw, but also containers in which to carry all the necessary material. For the longer routes, we thought of two objects that function both as containers for the seats and as flag holders, making the parliamentary hall a true institutional place.
A very important aspect of the whole process is the study of color. We started from the three secondary colors, violet, green and orange used for the communication of the project Di qua/di là. Based on these, we then developed a range of shades in an attempt, through a color scale, to give value, visual richness and vitality to the objects. The shades and textures applied were specifically created for each color on site to stimulate play and to draw a color wheel that brings us back to the circle, the form par excellence of sociality and equality.
Di qua/di là is a project of Festivaletteratura, coordinated by Ludosofici and Collettivo LAN-DE- Sì and realised with the support of the Dipartimento per le politiche per la famiglia della Presidenza del consiglio dei ministri
